- Where is the nearest Supermarket?
There is a Spar shop in the local village in nearby Highlands End Holiday Park where you can pick up all your essentials. Alternatively, there is a Morrisons superstore in Bridport only 5 minutes drive from the park which has a fuel station, recycling facilities and cash machines. On the other hand, there is a Waitrose in the centre of town. All major supermarkets deliver online orders to the park, please quote your lodge number and our post code DT6 6AL when ordering.
- How far is the park from the beach?
The park is situated just a 5 to 10 minute walk from the beach. Access to the beach itself is via 2 flights of steps onto a shingle beach.
- Is there a local Pub?
Yes, we have a local pub located in Lower Eype, The New Inn, just a two-minute walk from the park. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the pub which serves good food and is open every day during the season (closed on Mondays during the off-peak season).
Alternatively, if you take a short walk to Seatown or West Bay there are plenty of other options.
- Which days are market days in Bridport?
Bridport has a large outdoor street market on Saturdays and Wednesdays which has been active in the town centre since 1253. With crafts, antiques, bric-a-brac, clothes, household goods and lots of local produce on over 100 stalls there is something for everybody at this famous market.
- Where is the nearest shop I can buy provisions?

- Are there steps down to the beach?
Yes, there are 2 flights of steps leading down to Eype beach.
- Can I park outside my property?
Yes, all the properties have allocated parking spaces within 10 metres of your property. If any extra space is required for a 2nd car for example please let us know at the time of booking as we are able to accommodate limited extra parking spaces.
- Is the park fenced off and can my dogs run free in the park?
No, the park is open plan and surrounded by hedges that are not necessarily ‘dog-proof. You do however have secure enclosed gardens where you can relax with your furry friends.
- Is the park accessible if I don’t have a car?
Golden Acre is in a rural area which by definition means it is more easily accessible with a car. It is possible to take a train to Dorchester or Axminster, a bus to Bridport and then a taxi from Bridport to the park.
